# Files

Paid media lives under `data/files/` on the host. The stall sniffs bytes. It does not trust the browser’s content-type alone.

On Create and on a bounty submit form, attach with **Attach file**. After a file is chosen, **Replace** and **Remove** sit next to the filename. There is no drop zone.

## Allowed types

PDF, ZIP, plain text, Markdown, PNG, JPEG, WebP, MP4.

Maximum size: **10 MB**.

Anything else is rejected, including files whose magic bytes do not match.

## Who can read a file

The owner, or a wallet with an entitlement on a listing that points at that file. Unauthenticated requests get 403.

The file route can show the bytes **inline** (image, video, PDF, text) or `?download=1` as an attachment.

## Bounty submissions

A submitter may attach a file they uploaded, or an http(s) work link, plus a note. The file still has to belong to their wallet.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.deplace.space/files.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
